Dassia Corfu ( Korfu ) Greece , Dassia beach Corfu ( Korfu ) Greece Dassia is a popular, blue flag Corfu beach, with a long stretch of sand and shingle, clear shallow waters and about 10 km to Corfu Town, on the east coast. Dassia is situated along a pretty stretch of coastline and has everything to offer all ages.
Dassia's beach (long stretch of pebble and shingle) can be reached by various side roads leading off from the main road that runs through the resort. The Dassia beach gently slopes to clear shallow waters and is ideal for swimming. Although the beach is fairly narrow, the hotels that line the beach have plenty of sunbathing facilities set in gardens. Dassia has excellent water sport facilities with water skiing, scuba diving, paragliding, boat hire, to name a few. Dassia has an abundance of quality restaurants ranging from traditional Corfiot and Greek cuisine to Chinese and Italian. For those on a budget you can get a good three course meal for under £10 and sample quality Greek cuisine for just a few pounds. The Greeks adore children and they are more than welcome in most bars and restaurants. Evening entertainment in Dassia is relaxed and lai Dassia Corfu is a good central base from which to explore the rest of the island and there is an excellent bus service running every 20 minutes to Corfu Town (bus number 7) and regular services to other parts of the island. Car hire is reasonably priced and an ideal way to explore the island. Taxis are plentiful and available 24 hours. Bike hire is another way to get around but a helmet and a degree of common sense are essential. Dassia also offers a superb golf course and a pony trekking centre. There is an abundance of accommodation in Dassia with Dassia hotels, apartment and studios and a good camp site. On the whole most self catering apartments are clean and well kept, if not a little basic. The euro is in use here and there are plenty of exchange facilities. There are two cash machines, although don't rely too heavily on them, they often run out of cash! Credit cards are accepted in some places, but not everywhere. All in all Dassia Corfu is a nice, clean resort with plenty to offer all ages.!!! From Dassia you can go on foot to the wonderful tourist resort of kommeno and Gouvia which is full of clubs, restaurants tavern as or to Ipsos which is ten minutes walk. Also regular buses and taxis run to both Ipsos and Gouvia, another lively, busy resort. |
